Most of you already know our story, but for those who don't (or don't know the whole story), we'd like to share it.

We were both born and raised in the same city in Brazil. Even though we lived only two hours apart, curiously, we only met on the other side of the world.

In 2014, Pierre moved to the United States to live with his family, spending some time in Boston before settling in Chicago. Six years later, Mariane also moved to the United States, living in a few other states until she found a place to call home again.

On June 11, Mariane's birthday, our paths finally crossed. We met while waiting in a long line to get into a Mexican restaurant. Mariane was upset because some of her guests were already inside. Pierre offered to help, managed to get the whole group inside, and before we knew it, we were having a great time. That night was unforgettable, and from our first date the following weekend, we became inseparable.

At that time, Pierre had just quit his job to follow his passion, and Mariane was still navigating life in the US as an au pair. She was even thinking about moving to another state, but Pierre made sure she fell in love with him (and Chicago too).

Six months later, the most special part of our story came: we had a reunion with Jesus, and everything changed. We decided to start dating officially, following the path we felt God was calling us to walk. Since then, we have sought His presence, allowing the Holy Spirit to mold our character and guide our steps.

Now, as we prepare for marriage, we know that this covenant is not just about us. It is something much greater than we can imagine, and the deepest desire of our hearts is that our marriage will be used for His glory. God is our Father and our guide, for all the years to come, or until He returns.
